Cedric Coleman, wanted on first-degree murder charges after Sunday’s fatal shooting outside a strip club on the edge of Liberty City, surrendered to Miami-Dade police Tuesday afternoon at the Miami Lakes station.
Police say they believe Coleman and another 29-year-old, Wilton Jackson, got into an altercation, then got ejected around 4 a.m. Sunday from Club Extacy at Northwest 79th Street and Seventh Avenue. As Jackson stood outside, Coleman allegedly killed Jackson and hit a bystander in the hand with shots from a moving car, police say.
Coleman’s arrest warrant listed his occupation as “unemployed.” He seemed to have spent much of 2005-09 going to court or on probation. His convictions include: felony selling of marijuana near a school, felony cocaine possession, felony cocaine possession with intent to sell, misdemeanor marijuana possession and misdemeanor tresspass (thrice).
