Three teenagers — including a 15-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy — were shot early Thursday evening in Brownsville in Northwest Miami-Dade, police said.
The shooting took place at an apartment complex at Northwest 50th Street and 24th Avenue, across the street from Brownsville Middle School. The three were among a group of teens and young adults hanging out at the complex, police said.
A verbal altercation ensued, which quickly became physical. The two suspected shooters left and returned on foot and opened fire. It wasn’t clear if the three who were shot were part of the original fight, police said.
All three victims were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital and were in stable condition Thursday evening.
The girl, Lawrencia Barrett, was shot in the lower abdomen, police said.
Jason Gardner, 14, was shot in his right leg, police said.
Alexander Stallings, 18, was shot in his right hand.
