The Miami Marathon and Half Marathon will cause street closures on Sunday through the early afternoon.
About 25,000 people are running the race, which starts at 6:15 a.m. in front of the AmericanAirlines Arena. Roads will close at 5 a.m. and reopen by 1 p.m. The marathon route runs to Miami Beach, through downtown Miami and south to Coconut Grove before ending at Bayfront Park.
The street closings include Biscayne Boulevard, the MacArthur Causeway, Alton Road, East Flagler Street, Bayshore Drive, Mary Street, Grand Avenue, Commodore Plaza, U.S. 1, the Rickenbacker Causeway, Brickell Avenue and Brickell Avenue Bridge. Other interior streets in downtown Miami will also be closed.
