South Florida will be sizzling this weekend, with temperatures expected to hit 90 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Weather Channel’s Miami forecast calls for a mostly sunny day on Friday, with a high of 86 degrees. On Saturday, the temperature is expected to rise to 90 degrees, with a 50 percent chance of rain.
Beachgoers may still be able to squeeze in some sunshine on Saturday, if they head out early. The possible thunderstorms aren’t expected to develop until later in the day. The forecast for the early part of the day is “mostly sunny.”
Sunday is forecast to be a perfect beach day, with a high temperature of 90 degrees and zero chance of rain.
Just be sure to bring your sunglasses and sunscreen. South Florida’s “UV Index” — the federal government’s rating system for risk of sun overexposure — is rated “extreme” for the whole weekend. That’s the most intense sun exposure on the government’s five-level rating system.
After the weekend, temperatures are expected to dip slightly, with high temperatures of 87 degrees (and only a 10 percent chance of rain) on both Monday and Tuesday.
