The commute this week will be slowed by roadwork on State Roads 826 and 836 as well as on the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike and several surface roads like West Flagler Street, Old Cutler Road, North Miami Avenue and Northwest 37th Avenue.
Workers involved in the reconstruction of the massive 826/836 interchange near Miami International Airport will restrict the eastbound 836 exit ramp to Northwest 45th Avenue which will be intermittently closed through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night and again Friday from from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday.
Meanwhile, the entrance ramp to westbound 836 from southbound Northwest 45th Avenue will be intermittently closed for earthwork through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night and again Friday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday.
Also, the entrance ramp to eastbound 836 from Northwest 87th Avenue will be closed for tolling equipment maintenance on Thursday from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Friday.
On the Turnpike, up to two lanes in either direction between Southwest 216th Street and Eureka Drive may be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., through Thursday for widening and toll express lane work. Also, one lane in either direction between Southwest 184th and 104th streets may be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., through Thursday. If necessary, two lanes in each direction may be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the same time period.
Lane restrictions will be in place on Old Cutler Road from Southwest 63rd Avenue to Cartagena Plaza for reconstruction of the road, widening of the bicycle route and work on curb and gutters — among other tasks. Construction is anticipated to be completed by February 2017.
There will also be lane restrictions on North Miami Avenue from 79th to 87th streets for work that includes milling and resurfacing and construction of ramps and — among other things. Construction is to be completed in July.
Also, lane restrictions can be expected on West Flagler Street from 92nd to 102nd avenues for milling and resurfacing, construction of ramps and adjustment of valve boxes and manholes —among other things Construction will continue until July.
Separately, there will be a complete closure of all lanes on Northwest 37th Avenue between Northwest 14th and 13th streets for installation of a bridge superstructure through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night and again Friday from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
