The major traffic disruptions this week will occur on State Roads 826, 836 and 874 as well as on the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike, West Flagler Street and Northwest 87th Avenue.
Starting Friday, the southbound State Road 826 (Palmetto Expressway) exit ramp to West Flagler Street will be closed for approximately three months.
Drivers on southbound 826 headed to West Flagler will be detoured to the eastbound State Road 836 (Dolphin Expressway) ramp to access the West Flagler Street/826 south exit.
The ramp closure will allow workers to finish construction of a new bridge over Northwest Seventh Street and the permanent ramp lanes to the new southbound 826 exit to West Flagler Street – all part of the ongoing overhaul of the massive 826-836 interchange near Miami International Airport (MIA).
On the Turnpike, one or two lanes in each direction between Southwest 104th Street/Killian Parkway and Southwest 184th Street/Eureka Drive will be closed nightly through Thursday for widening. A third lane in either direction may be closed, if needed.
On State Road 874 (Don Shula Expressway), one of two lanes in either direction between Killian Parkway and the Turnpike will be closed nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. through Thursday.
Meanwhile, the westbound 836 ramps to West Flagler Street and to Northwest 87th Avenue will be closed nightly between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. through July 26 so workers can paint bridges.
