Traffic disruptions in Miami-Dade this week will center on and around Northwest 25th Street, where workers are building a new segment of a truck roadway.
All westbound lanes will be closed on 25th Street for bridge work in Doral at the junction of Northwest74th Avenue through July 3 — except Saturday and Sunday — between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. each night.
All southbound lanes on 826 will be closed nightly at Northwest 25th Street through Thursday, also for bridge work, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
In other roadway work:
One or two lanes in each direction will be closed nightly on U.S. 1 at Florida’s Turnpike intersection through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night as part of a widening and express lane project.
Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) this week will begin a $2.3 million road project on Northwest 119th Street from Seventh Avenue to West Dixie Highway that will take about eight months to complete. It includes: drainage, curb and gutter and some roadway reconstruction.
Also, the third phase of the construction project on the Miami Avenue Bridge over the Miami River is now underway. Road closures will continue through the completion of the project from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some construction activities, though, may take place nights and weekends from time to time.
FDOT has completed a sidewalk improvement project along Northwest 57th Avenue from Honey Hill Drive to Florida’s Turnpike. The project added approximately 1.1 miles of sidewalk along the east side of 57th Avenue from Honey Hill Drive to Florida’s Turnpike exit ramp.
