Miami-Dade police arrested Miami’s Curtis Lee Lawson. 35, Thursday and charged him with last week’s abduction and propositioning of a 10-year-old girl on her way to school.
Lawson’s being held in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, granted no bond on the charge of kidnapping of a child under 13 and and $5,000 bond on the charge of lewd and lascivious assault on a child.
A 10-year-old girl told cops a man in a newer blue Kia offered her a ride to school as she sat at a bus stop at Northwest 100th Street and 22nd Avenue. After she accepted, he drove them to the Westar gas station near the corner of Northwest 119th Street and 17th Avenue and made what police called “an inappropriate sexual request.” She refused and demanded to be taken to school, which the man did.
Gas station surveillance video obtained by Miami Herald news partner CBS4 showed a blue Kia pulling into the Westar and a tall, heavyset man with dreadlocks walking around the convenience store.
