A 72-year-old guard was shot during an armored truck robbery outside a check cashing store in Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood Friday morning.

The FBI put out a $5,000 reward for information on the suspect. In addition, Brinks is offering a $20,000 reward for the next 10 days.

The suspect, a young male, shot the guard in the leg after pushing him to the ground. The suspect ran away with a money bag in hand, authorities said. The incident occurred at the check cashing store at 2900 NW 27th Ave.

The victim is in stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Officials are looking for a man with “dark complexion” between 18 to 21 years old, about 5-foot-6, 130 lbs, with a a full, closely trimmed beard, wearing a black shirt and jeans.

FBI officials described the robbery as a “terrible and brazen” crime, but said it was too early in the investigation to call it premeditated.

Authorities asked anyone with information to call FBI at 305-944-9101.
