Justin Bieber continues to wait. And wait.
The latest in Justin Bieber’s Miami-Dade DUI case involved more waiting, with a judge on Tuesday postponing the status hearing for another week.
Prosecutors and Bieber’s defense team continue to work on a plea deal.
The teen pop star was arrested in the early hours of the morning of Jan. 23, while racing down a Miami Beach street in a yellow Lamborghini at 15 to 20 mph above the speed limit. He failed a sobriety test and was charged with with DUI and resisting arrest, reportedly repeatedly asking police, “Why the f--- are you doing this?”
Police sources say Bieber, who had spent the week partying in Florida, admitted to having smoked pot, taking prescription anti-depressants and drinking beer that night.
Also arrested that day was his friend, R&B singer Khalil Sharief, who faced off against Bieber in the Pine Tree Drive race.
Bieber, who was not required to be in court, did not attend Tuesday’s hearing.
The next status hearing in the case will be Aug. 13. No trial date has been set.
