A Wednesday morning double stabbing at a Miami apartment building left a man dead and a woman in critical condition.
The victims were identified as Alfonso Pabon and Maria Riveria, both 65. The incident happened at 1559 North River Drive, and the woman was being treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
Miami Police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said the investigation was in its preliminary stages. Police didn’t know of a motive, and she said it was too early to say whether investigators were looking at a domestic dispute or an outside suspect.
“We're really not sure what we have,” she said.
While the couple lived together, she said, it was unclear whether they were married.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
