Police release 911 call after 3-year-old Miramar toddler shoots herself

“My daughter shot herself! Please, please hurry up! Please!”
In a 911 call released Monday by Miramar Police, a frantic woman can be heard begging for help after realizing her 3-year-old daughter is seriously injured.
Police said the toddler found an unsecured gun and accidentally shot herself in the stomach late Wednesday in the home at The shooting happened in the 4300 block of SW 132nd Way in the Silver Falls subdivision. The child was home with her mother at the time.
During the 43-second snippet, the woman tells her daughter to breathe and pleads with the child to hold on. Crying can be heard in the background.
The dispatcher asks the mother to stay on the phone, and the woman asks again for paramedics to hurry.
The toddler was rushed to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood.
The investigation is in its final stages, said police spokesperson Natasha Richardson,. No charges have been filed as of Monday.
“Based on what’s in the report and what the investigation has found, (the state attorney’s office) will decide if there will be any charges filed,” she said.
