A police standoff that lasted for several hours Sunday night in Hialeah ended when officers finally entered the home and found a man and a woman dead.
Police believe Julian Ovalle took his girlfriend Rossana Sabater’s life, then his own. During the standoff, a fire was started at the home. Police don’t know what caused the domestic altercation but said the couple’s two children — and a third from an earlier relationship — were not harmed.
Hialeah police were releasing little information Monday. They said they were called to the home at 660 E. 63rd St. at 8 p.m. Sunday after relatives called to report a “suspicious incident.”
Ovalle, 39, and Sabater, 31, were found dead inside the home. Police did not say how they died or how the fire was set.
