South Florida gas prices have started to edge up.
It’s a smaller bounce to the ounce — OK, the gallon — than the rest of Florida. According to AAA, while the statewide average for a gallon of regular leaped from $2.30 to $2.37, Miami stepped up one cent ($2.38 to $2.39) and Fort Lauderdale stepped up three cents ($2.36 to $2.39).
Now that we’ve advised to gas up, here’s a little guidance so you can save a little.
If you’re not a BJ’s or Costco member, GasBuddy.com says look for the price wars along West Flagler. Rocket Fuel, at 5695 W. Flagler St., and Gas Xpress, across the street at 5688 W. Flagler, offer $2.13 per gallon. UGas at 4690 W. Flagler and Valero at 4790 W. Flagler are at $2.21.
In North Miami-Dade, you can get $2.19 at Marathon, 1930 Opa-locka Blvd.
In South Miami-Dade, check out the UGas at 28590 S. Dixie Hwy ($2.27) or the Shell at 1300 SW 288th St ($2.28).
For Broward drivers in the Lighthouse Point area, there’s a UGas at 5200 N. Federal Hwy selling regular at $2.19.
