One person was killed Sunday afternoon in Miami-Dade’s Brownsville neighborhood during a drive-by shooting, according to Miami-Dade Police.
Investigators say a 36-year-old man was having a conversation with two friends in front of a home off Northwest 55th Street and 24th Avenue at around 3:41 p.m. when a unknown vehicle approached.
Miami Herald news partner CBS 4 identified the victim as Robert Henton.
The car abruptly stopped in front of the home, and one or more shooters got out and opened fire on the victim. It’s unclear how many people were inside the car and how many shots were fired.
“The subject(s) fled in an unknown direction,” said police spokesperson Robin Pinkard in an email. “Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased.”
