“When the shop first opened all we featured were beach towels,” according to the Towels of Key West website. “Over the years the collection has expanded into all types of towels, for the beach and home. Always striving to improve our customers experience we added other home décor and an extensive collection of lounge wear including robes, nightshirts and pajamas.”
Located at 806 Duval St., Towels of Key West was founded in 1986 by Kent Henry and Stan Wellman. That year, Henry and Wellman introduced the LGBT Rainbow towel, which is currently available online for $48.
