ComingOutCuba, a new national Cuban-American LGBT foundation based in Miami Beach, held a kickoff party Saturday night at R House in Wynwood.
“Thank you all so much for coming to support #ComingOutCuba — we are honored and flattered by your presence! Who wants more?” foundation co-founder Osmany Caballero-Halabi posted Sunday on Facebook.
“It’s mission and vision is to support and provide a culture and art driven platform for Cuban and LGBTQ artists while hosting art exhibitions and performances throughout the world,” according to the group’s Facebook page. “C.O.C is not affiliated with any religious or political organizations, its sole mission is to organize, activate and engage a united Cuban-American community and mobilize human and financial resources to care for those in need in the USA, Cuba and around the world. The vision is to reveal the gay Cuban culture pre-revolution while building a new one.”
