Could these tiny houses —and we mean tiny — house the hurricane homeless?

A tiny house quickly came together Wednesday in the parking lot of the Marathon Government Center. A crew with the Plexos Group, a consulting company, erected the 300-square-foot prefabricated house, complete with kitchen appliances and unconnected bathroom fixtures, in about three and a half hours as a “mock-up” demonstration project for possible short-term housing in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

Was this dive equipment sold to Libyan militants? The FBI is investigating

Peter Sotis, an expert in advanced rebreather diving who was with Canadian documentary maker Rob Stewart when he disappeared and died following an underwater film shoot off the Florida Keys in February, is embroiled in a lawsuit with his former business partner. In the dispute, he’s claimed to have knowingly sold a large order of sophisticated dive gear to Libyan militants.

First manatee released in Key Largo post Hurricane Irma

On Thursday, September 28, manatee Rebellion was released back to its natural waters, in the same area where he was rescued, after successfully undergoing rehabilitation at Miami Seaquarium. On April 13, 2017, a male manatee was rescued from Buttonwood Sound in Key Largo having suffered from propeller wounds and fractured ribs. After receiving treatment at Miami Seaquarium for four months, Rebellion currently weighs 400 pounds and is seven feet long. The staff at the park named him Rebellion because he is very spunky.
