A dog shot, dumped on the road and left for dead is recovering at a South Broward animal clinic and is up for adoption.
Lexie was found Friday on the side of the road in Hollywood, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4.
The dog is at VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital and faces a two-month recovery.
“She was lucky enough that she got picked up by a great organization called Grateful Paws that are picking up the bill for all this,” Dr. Angela Suarez told the station.
The labrador-boxer mix suffered a shattered front leg and is now in a cast.
“She could not walk, she was in shock,” Suarez said. “We started treating her and we found a through and through bullet wound in the right leg and it was broken the bone showed on X-rays.”
