It was a big night for Luke Harper and Sheamus during WWE Survivor Series on Sunday, Nov. 22 from Philips Arena in Atlanta.
Pyro blasting and plenty of red, white, blue and yellow confetti showering the ring after Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose in the finals of the WWE World Title Tournament to become the new WWE World champion.
With confetti still raining on the ring, WWE Executive Vice President Talent/Live Events/Creative Paul Triple H Levesque entered and raised the hand of Reigns. Triple H then extended his hand to the new champ. Reigns took a few steps away and then speared Triple H.
Sheamus appeared and dropped Reigns, when he turned around, with a Brogue Kick. Referee Charles Robinson took the briefcase and signaled for the bell from timekeeper Berkley Ottman as ring announcer Lilian Garcia made the title match announcement.
Sheamus went for the quick cover, but somehow Reigns kicked out at two. A stunned Sheamus regrouped and delivered a second Brogue Kick to end it, and a new champ, hailing from Ireland, was born in a matter of seconds.
Triple H offered his hand to Sheamus, but Sheamus hugged him.
In the tournament semifinals, Reigns defeated U.S. champ Alberto Del Rio (with Zeb Colter), and Ambrose beat Intercontinental champ Kevin Owens. Your referees Dan Engler and John Cone.
Luke, I am your Taker
It was a night to remember for Luke Harper as The Undertaker delivered his patented tombstone piledriver on the Wyatt Family member.
Undertaker teamed with Kane to reunite the Brothers of Destruction against the Wyatt Family. The old school evil doers dominated the new school version of evil doing. Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan, Braun Strowman and Harper each had a moment to shine, but Paul Bearer’s darkness shined brightest en route to the victory.
Undertaker debuted at Survivor Series on Nov. 22, 1990 from the Hartford Civic Center. Koko B. Ware became the first victim of a tombstone piledriver. After many, many others, Harper will be remembered as the one who made the crowd go wild to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Deadman on Nov. 22, 2015.
To do that job for that legend on such a grand stage in such a historic match is an honor for anyone, and Harper is the one who received that kudo on the 25th anniversary. In that scenario, losing is winning. Your referee Mike Chioda.
WWE Divas champ Charlotte made Paige submit to retain her title. Your referee Rod Zapata.
Ryback, The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso), and The Lucha Dragons (Kalisto and Sin Cara) wrestled The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods), Sheamus, and King Barrett) in a traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match. The survivors/winners were Ryback, Kalisto and Jey Uso. Your referee Jason Ayers.
Tyler Breeze (with Summer Rae) defeated Dolph Ziggler. Your referee Darrick Moore.
In the pre-show,. Goldust, The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von), Neville, and Titus O'Neil wrestled The Cosmic Wasteland (Stardust, Konnor and Viktor), The Miz, and Bo Dallas in a traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match. The survivors/winners were Goldust, O’Neil and the Dudleys. Your referee Rod Zapata.
