A driver traveling in a car linked to a homicide investigation led police on a high-speed chase through Broward County on Wednesday.
The chase began in Fort Lauderdale as a man in a white Toyota Scion drove recklessly on I-95, speeding past traffic in the emergency lanes.
The driver exited at Atlantic Boulevard and drove wildly around several trees, making illegal U-turns in an effort to elude police before heading onto residential streets in Pompano Beach.
Police followed at a safe distance behind the driver until he eventually pulled over in a parking lot around 4 p.m.
Officers surrounded the vehicle with guns drawn and took the man and his female passenger into custody near NE 6th Street and 27th Avenue.
Investigators want to look through the car for evidence related to a homicide in Fort Pierce. Police said the driver of the car is not wanted in connection with that investigation.
No other information was released about the driver or passenger.
