A 16-year-old who threatened to kill students was arrested at his Pompano Beach home with a homemade pipe bomb and weapons, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The teen made the threats while playing a video game online Monday afternoon, BSO said. That led to someone tipping Boca Raton police, who tossed the issue to BSO because of the boy’s location.
When deputies, the violent crimes division, strategic investigations division, Homeland Security and the FBI arrived at the home, a pipe bomb and weapons were found, according to the sheriff’s office.
The teen faces felony charges for possessing explosives.
