An elderly woman lost control of her car Thursday morning and crashed into a Plantation hair salon, leaving damage to the front of the building.
No one was seriously injured in the accident, which happened about 9 a.m. at the Hair Cuttery, 6969 W Broward Blvd., said Plantation Police Detective Phil Toman.
Car vs. building crashes have become routine in South Florida. Although these types of accidents are not formally tracked, police departments see them at least every few weeks.
Toman said it was not clear how the woman, who is in her 80s, wound up driving into the building.
The driver, who did not give her name, told Miami Herald news partner CBS4 that she hit the gas instead of the brake of her silver Buick Verano.
