Law enforcement is searching for a Sunrise man wanted on charges of possessing child pornography and for questioning about an alleged sexual assault of a woman last December.
Stanley R. Simms, 47, was last seen leaving his residence at 2480 E. Aragon Blvd. on foot June 7, the same day a federal arrest warrant was issued against him. He may be driving a green/gray BMW with the Florida license plate number 426 VXU or a purple, older-model pickup truck, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Investigators found Simms by tracing his computer’s IP address through a file sharing network with suspected child pornography. They issued a subpoena to Comcast in order to identify the user.
The FBI also wants to question Simms about the alleged sexual assault of a woman who may have been drugged in Broward County last December.
Simms is known to go to adult entertainment clubs in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, according to Jim Marshall, spokesman at the FBI’s Miami division.
“We want to get him off the streets,” Marshall said. “What we’re asking is that if there’s someone out there who has information on where he is, please call the FBI, call the local police. Don’t approach him yourself.”
