Two bodies were found inside a submerged car in a canal in Plantation Friday afternoon, according to Plantation police.
Authorities said a passerby spotted a car inside a canal near Tara Drive and Old South Hiatus Road and dialed 911.
Divers perused the waters and took out two bodies. A crane was used to pull the white four-door car out of the deep water.
Police said they don’t know if anyone witnessed the incident. A medical examiner was on the scene trying to identify the bodies.
According to Davie Police Sgt. Christopher Chastain, two missing person’s reports were filed for two missing adults on Thursday. They were last seen Thursday night.
Chastain said the car in the canal matches the description of the car the missing people were driving, he said.
Neighbors told reporters that the couple went out for dinner late Thursday, and were on their way to pick one of their sons but never got there.
Police could not officially confirm their names and are still investigating.
