Miami Police is investigating an attempted robbery that took place on May 12, 2017, at Antigua Guatemala Restaurant. According to police, the suspect entered the restaurant and confronted several employees by implying he had a gun. The robber approached the employee behind the cash register and became agitated when the cashier didn't comply, so he pushed the register to the floor. The employee in an attempt to stop the robbery punched the robber. The empty-handed robber fled into a dark-color4-door sedan, driven by the getaway driver.
A naked man carrying a 5-gallon bucket stole truck with a $25,000 swan statue in the back from a Lakeland, Florida business on May 19, 2017. The truck was recovered in Hillsborough County, but the swan was not. The man was identified as Ronald Thompson. He was arrested and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
