Extra $1 nets $10M

From Herald Staff and Wire Reports

An extra dollar spent on a Lotto ticket meant an extra $10 million for the one player who hit all six numbers in Saturday night's drawing, the Florida Lottery said Sunday.

Saturday's Lotto numbers were 11, 15, 22, 23, 25 and 42. The base jackpot was $6 million, but the winner bought a $2 ticket, making the prize worth $16 million. Had a $3 ticket been purchased, the $6 million pot would have been increased by $25 million, to $31 million.

The winning ticket was sold in Bradenton, the lottery said.

The smaller prizes:

• 84 tickets matched five numbers to win $4,530.50 each.

• 4,648 tickets matched four numbers for $66.50.

• 96,408 tickets matched three numbers for $4.50.

The odds of correctly picking all six Lotto numbers are 1 in 22,957,480, according to the lottery. The odds don't change with the price of the ticket.

The base jackpot for Wednesday's drawing will be $3 million.
