Vermont hang-glider, 59, killed in Florida

DAVENPORT, Fla. -- An autopsy has been scheduled for a 59-year-old Vermont man who died after a hang-gliding crash in central Florida.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Anthony Ameo, of Sheffield, Vt., was pronounced dead at a hospital Sunday. Ameo was airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries following the Sunday afternoon crash in Davenport.
Witnesses told authorities that Ameo hit a tree and crashed to the ground while he was trying to land the hang-glider.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
