Fla. suspect to fight extradition in Mo. case

The Associated Press

A sixth member of a family facing multiple child sex abuse charges in western Missouri says he is "devastated" and had "no idea" about the allegations.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports that Darrel Wayne Mohler made the remarks outside the courtroom where he made his first appearance in front of a judge Saturday.

The 72-year-old from Silver Springs, Fla., is charged with two counts of forcible rape in Lafayette County, Mo.

Judge Frances King told Mohler he is not eligible for a public defender and set bail at $40,000.

Five other members of the Mohler family were charged earlier this week with several felonies, including forcible sodomy, rape with a child younger than 12 and use of a child in a sexual performance.
