2 Fort Lewis soldiers killed in Afghanistan

The Associated Press

The Defense Department reports two Fort Lewis soldiers were killed Thursday when their Stryker vehicle went over a buried explosive in Afghanistan.

They were identified Monday as 22-year-old Spc. Aaron S. Aamot of Custer, Wash., and 22-year-old Spc. Gary L. Gooch Jr., of Ocala, Fla.

Both were members of the 5th Stryker brigade from Fort Lewis that deployed in July.
