KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- A central Florida man who gave his wife a gun and encouraged her to kill herself is facing criminal charges.
According to a news release, Phillip Lee Rogers said he and his wife Tammy had been drinking and arguing all day on Sept. 19 when he asked her why she didn't just kill herself. Tammy Rogers asked for his gun, which he gave her. Phillip Rogers told Osceola County Sheriff's deputies she then held the gun to her head but it didn't fire.
Tammy Rogers gave the gun back to her husband, who put a round in the chamber. She then shot herself.
Phillip Rogers was arrested Friday and released on $25,000 bond Saturday. A message left at the his home Monday was not immediately returned.
