Lost deer breaks into Pinellas Co. home

The Associated Press

Call it a deer home invasion.

Two Pinellas County sheriff's deputies responded to calls of a house being burglarized Sunday morning. They found a broken window and there a blood trail.

Once inside, though, they discovered that their suspect was a lost deer.

The deputies opened the garage doors and used towels to direct the animal toward the open area. The deer ran off into the Brooker Creek Preserve.

The sheriff's office report says the deer appeared to have a minor cut on a back leg.

The owners of the home were out of town. Neighbors boarded up the broken window and secured the home.
