Walter Revell, a long-serving member of the board of directors for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, has been named chairman of the board.
Miami-based Norwegian announced the appointment Monday. Revell has been a director and chairman of the audit committee for the company since 2005; he also served as a director of predecessor companies as far back as 1993.
Revell is CEO and chairman of Revell Investments International in Coral Gables and chairman of the board of International Finance Bank in Miami. He has also been CEO and charman of Pinehurst Development, a family-owned company, since 1990.
A past chairman of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Revell was Florida’s Secretary of Transportation from 1972-1975.
The company also announced the appointment of two new directors to the board: Kevin C. Jones, general counsel, secretary and senior vice president of corporate development and strategy for Genting Americas, and Blondel So King Tak, executive vice president and country head of Hong Kong and Macau for Genting HK.
Genting owns 28 percent of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
