Keith Urtel has joined MBAF as a principal in the audit department and risk advisory team. Urtel, a CPA, will cover the Miami-New York corridor. Previously, he was a managing partner at Ernst & Young. Urtel has a bachelor’s in accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Raul Freyre has been named small business sales executive, Florida, at BankUnited. Most recently, he was small business banking manager in South Florida for Bank of America. Freyre has an undergraduate degree in leadership from
St. Thomas University and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University.
Jorge Moros joined Plaza Construction as an operations manager in its Southeast Regional office in Miami. Previously he was South Florida co-account manager at Skanska. Moros has a bachelor’s in architecture from Simón Bolívar University in Caracas and an MBA from Eastern Michigan University.
Gulliver has promoted two administrators. Valerie Bostick will be assistant head of schools for grades PreK3-8 and continues to be primary school principal. Previously she was the head of grades preK-4 at Evansville (Indiana) Day School. Bostick has a master’s in teaching from National Louis University. Jonathan Schoenwald, who has served as principal of Gulliver Preparatory School since 2014, will also be the assistant head of schools for grades 9-12. He is the former head of school at Rocky Hill School in Rhode Island. Schoenwald’s degrees include a Ph.D. in American history from Stanford.
Michelle Gomez has joined Kelley Kronenberg as a partner. Previously she was president at Saunders, Curtis, Ginestra & Gore, P.A. Gomez, a City of Tamarac commissioner, has a law degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Greg Curling is CFO of the Miami Herald Media Co. He previously was senior manager of corporate finance at E.W. Scripps Co. in Cincinnati. Curling has a bachelor’s in economics and an MBA from Florida State University.
Yarden Cohen is director of social media at BoardroomPR. She most recently was social media manager at Balance 180. Cohen has a bachelor’s in telecommunications from the University of Florida.
Adam Horowitz has been named chief financial officer at 3AWORLDWIDE. He will also remain CEO with QuarterCompany. Horowitz has a degree in business administration and finance from Nova Southeastern University.
Lisa Jesmer has been named vice president of management services at Franklin Street and will be based in Miami. Previously she managed the real estate portfolio for Jackson Health Systems in Miami. She has degrees in engineering and finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
