Mark Giallonardo has been named a tax principal in the Coral Gables office of Cherry Bekaert. He had been a principal at Hill, Barth & King. He received a bachelor’s in mathematics from Westminster College, a J.D. from Duquesne University, and L.L.M. in taxation from Villanova.
H. Thomas Temple, M.D., has been named senior vice president of translational research and economic development for Nova Southeastern University. He is responsible for building the connections, resources and entrepreneurial energy for the commercialization of NSU’s research activities. Temple joins NSU from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he was most recently chief of the Orthopaedic Oncology Division, director of the University of Miami Tissue Bank, professor of orthopaedics and pathology and vice-chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics.

Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood has named Chris Walling as director of food and beverage and Gary Klinefelter as executive chef of Diplomat Prime, the hotel’s restaurant. Walling was most recently as the director of food and beverage at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort. He has a degree in hospitality management from University of Nevada Las Vegas. Klinefelter has held executive chef positions with the Buccaneer Resort and Spa, among others. He is a graduate of the American Culinary Federation and the Culinary Institute of America.
Alvarez, Carbonell, Feltman & Da Silvia (ACFD) has promoted two of its civic trial attorneys to shareholders. Brian C. Costa and J. Bruno De La Fuente both have a primary focus on insurance disputes, and they both have J.D. degrees from the University of Miami.
Kelley Kronenberg’s recent moves in its Miami office include:
▪ Jorge L. Cruz-Bustillo, who has taken the role of managing partner of the Miami office. He focuses his practice on insurance defense litigation and complex commercial and construction disputes. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from Stetson University.
▪ Denisse M. Ibarra, who has been named partner, focuses her practice on first party and third party insurance defense, as well as complex commercial and construction disputes. She has a bachelor of arts from Florida International University and a law degree from Florida State University College of Law.
Juan ‘JC’ Acosta has been named chief operating officer at Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Americas. He will be based in Miami and will be responsible for VIMN’s brands including MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Paramount Channel and Tr3 in the Latin America, Canada and the U.S. Hispanic market. In addition, Acosta will be responsible for the financial oversight of the company’s entertainment portfolio. Previously, Acosta was EVP, CFO and executive-in-charge of production. Acosta, a CPA, has a bachelor’s of accounting and an MBA from Florida International University.

Experience: Colasante has held numerous leadership roles during her 25-year career at American. Before joining the airline, she worked at three Canadian carriers: Wardair, First Air and Canadian Airlines.
Education: She studied languages at the University of Ottawa and is fluent in Spanish, Italian and French.
