Gas prices in Florida have declined for 47 consecutive days, bringing economic relief to drivers.
The average price for a gallon in the Miami area is $2.29 per gallon, down 9.1 cents in the last month and 40.5 cents in the last year.
Senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, Patrick DeHaan, said that gas prices “have continued to decline as the glut of oil and refined products has persisted.”
DeHaan believes that this decline in gas prices will continue
“I foresee that excluding a major hurricane or other disruption, we are very likely to see many more states with average prices falling under $2 a gallon by Halloween,” he said.
The price, as of Sunday, is slightly above the national average of $2.15 per gallon and the statewide average of 2.10 per gallon.
There are 96 days left to reach DeHaan's target.
