Berkley Insurance Company has signed an office lease at 600 Brickell to serve as the firm’s regional headquarters for its Latin American business division. JLL completed the transaction on behalf of Foram Group, the owner of the 40-story office tower in Miami’s Brickell Financial District.
Founded in 1967 and based in Greenwich, Connecticut, W. R. Berkley Corporation is an insurance holding company that is among the largest commercial lines writers in the United States. The firm will occupy a total of 21,363 square feet in Class A office space at the Brickell World Plaza office tower, joining a tenant roster that includes Northern Trust, the law firm Hogan Lovells, Crédit Agricole Private Banking Miami and others.
“The opening of our regional headquarters for Latin America in Miami will allow us to further expand in the region and meet the needs of our international client base,” William R. Berkley, chairman and CEO of W. R. Berkley Corporation, said in a statement. Berkley Insurance operates in the domestic and international property casualty insurance market and the global reinsurance market.
Noël Steinfeld, senior vice president at JLL, completed the lease transaction for the new-to-market tenant on behalf of the tower’s developer. Jack Lowell, executive vice president at PointeGroup Advisors, represented Berkley Insurance. Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed.
