A Spanish engineering firm has opened its U.S. headquarters in Miami, according to a news release from the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade’s economic development arm.
VIMAC USA specializes in railroad construction, electromechanical engineering and civil and hydraulic projects.
"As a major hub for shipping and merchandise distribution, Miami is the optimal choice for our entrance into the U.S. market," VIMAC USA general manager Carlos Garzon said in a statement. "We're confident in the business and growth opportunities that this thriving region will bring to our company."
The Beacon Council said the company will create 12 jobs and $1 million in capital investments over the next three years.
VIMAC also has offices in Colombia, Romania and Saudi Arabia.
