Spirit Airlines has reached a tentative contract agreement with its flight attendants.

The low-cost airline, which has headquarters in Miramar, and the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA announced the tentative agreement for a five-year contract Thursday.

Members of the union still must ratify the agreement, which got support from union leaders. Details of the contract are not being released until flight attendants have a chance to review them, but a press release from the union said terms include “immediate economic improvements” and protection of health care and quality of life provisions.

Results will be announced after voting closes on Oct. 1.

The National Mediation Board helped the two sides reach the agreement, which would cover about 1,400 flight attendants.
