Cantina La Veinte, a new waterfront Mexican restaurant at Miami’s Icon Brickell, 495 Brickell Ave., will open July 28. The restaurant represents the Mexico City-based hospitality firm Cinbersol Group’s first foray into the United States.
Cantina La Veinte said it promises an eclectic menu of traditional Mexican cuisine, crafted cocktails and a selection of 260 high-end tequilas and mezcals.
The restaurant’s kitchen will be led by Executive Chef Santiago Gomez, a native of Mexico, Gomez who worked at NOBU, both in Miami and Mexico City. In recent years, Gomez has worked for various Cinbersol dining concepts, including Piso 51 in Mexico City and Cantina La Numero 20, which has multiple locations in Polanco, El Angel and Santa Fe, Mexico.
Designed by Mexican architectural firm Niz + Chauvet, the 450-seat indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar will combine a Mexican Art Deco style and the decor of a traditional Mexican cantina, featuring a floor-to-ceiling black onyx bar with antiqued mirrors and a geometric, pyramid-shaped black and gold chandelier.
