POLICE REPORT

Motorist is victim of `crash-and-grab'

About 10:15 p.m. Oct. 14, a 36-year-old man was driving west on West Broward Boulevard in his 1995 Honda Civic. He told police he stopped at the light at Southwest 54th Avenue in Plantation when he was hit from behind and left his car to speak to the other driver.

The other driver, dressed in black with a gold tooth, got out of his Mercedes-Benz E Class, pulled out a black Glock semiautomatic pistol and ordered the victim to empty his pockets.

The victim gave him $20 and a bottle of Roxycodone 30mg prescription pain relievers valued at $400.

The robber got back into his car and drove west on West Broward Boulevard. The victim told police he tried to hold on to the car and got a partial tag number before he was knocked down and dragged ``several feet.''

He said he had been at a gas station at East Acre Drive and West Broward Boulevard buying cigarettes and didn't see anyone follow him out of the station.

A mark on the rear of the Honda was consistent with being hit from behind but there was no visable damage to the car.
