Woman dies after being struck on State Road 7
A 70-year-old woman trying to cross State Road 7 died after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday, according to Davie police.
The woman was on State Road 7 just south of Griffin Road , said Sgt. Rob Choquette, a Davie police spokesman. Shortly before 3 p.m., she ventured across the southbound lanes. Two vehicles saw her and stopped, Choquette said, but a third slammed into her.
The woman died at the scene, Choquette said. She wasn't in an intersection.
The woman's name wasn't released on Saturday because her family hadn't been reached yet, he said.
The driver who struck her stayed at the scene. No charges were filed, Choquette said.
