Two robbers rip off Sunrise Taco Bell

A robbery team hit a Sunrise fast food restaurant.

Store employees told police two armed robbers walked into the Taco Bell at 2451 N. University Dr. about 9:15 a.m. Sept. 21.

They said one walked into the kitchen and threatened an an employee who was prepping cheese.

''Get down or I'll shoot you and don't look up,'' the robber reportedly told the cook.

The cook said he followed instructions and the robber walked into the break room and forced another employee to lie down next to the cook.

The second robber walked into the office and confronted the manager.

''Open the safe or I'll kill you,'' he said as he placed a gun against the side of her waist.

She said she opened the safe and took out $135, all the money that was in it.

The robber grabbed it from her hand and both men ran through the kitchen and out of the business.

One of the employees got up in time to see the robbers drive away in a late-model green Honda Civic with dark-tinted windows.

Gym locker raided: A man told police he placed his wallet in a gym locker at Bally Total Fitness, 2701 S. University Dr., and secured it with his personal padlock at 10 a.m. Sept. 25. He said that when he returned about 11:40 a.m., the lock and wallet were missing. He valued the leather wallet at $25 and said it contained $300 in cash.

Purse pilfered: Someone broke the driver's-door lock of a 2003 GMC Yukon sport utility vehicle belonging to an employee at Gaffers' Pub, 5759 S. University Dr. The employee told police she parked the SUV at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 and discovered her purse missing when her shift ended at 3 a.m. Sept. 20. She said the purse contained Gucci sunglasses valued at $500, an MP3 player valued at $200, $250 in cash, a driver's license and credit cards.

Mountain bike stolen: A Trek mountain bike valued at $2,500 was stolen from the back patio of a home in the 6200 block of Palm Trace Landings Drive between 1 p.m. Sept. 14 and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21.

Doggie door burglary: Four dogs were ''running loose'' through a home in the 5800 block of Southwest 55th Avenue but they didn't stop a burglar from crawling through a doggie door between 7:15 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. Sept. 22. The burglar stole a Microsoft Xbox 360 Green Halo edition game controller valued at $500 and 20 games valued at $1,000.

SUNRISE

Gasoline stolen: A customer returned a 2007 GMC box truck to U-Haul, 4747 Nob Hill Rd., at 10:46 a.m. Sept. 20. An employee checked the fuel level and noted the tank was three-eighths full. At 7:30 a.m. Sept. 21, it was checked again and the fuel level measured one quarter full. The employee estimated that nine gallons of gas valued at $4 a gallon had been siphoned from the tank.

Tools taken: In the driveway of a home in the 3100 block of Northwest 122nd Terrace, someone pried open a lock and stole tools valued at $2,915 from a 2004 Ford van between 6 p.m. Sept. 15 and 6:30 a.m. Sept. 16. The haul included a rotary hammer, three saws and two drills.

Tailgate missing: Someone stole the tailgate from a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck parked in the rear of a building in the 4500 block of Nob Hill Road between 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19 and 8 a.m. Sept. 22. The tailgate was valued at $1,000.

Car stolen: Between 10:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and 7 a.m. Sept. 19, someone stole a yellow 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution from the front of a home in the 1300 block of Northwest 126th Way. The owner told police he didn't realize it was missing until a Florida Highway Patrol trooper told him it had been found, stripped, in Miami.

WESTON

Work thefts: A woman told sheriff's deputies that while she worked at Casablanca, 1713 Main St., someone stole her wallet between 1 and 5 p.m. Oct. 7.

• At Office Depot, 2925 W. Corporate Lakes Blvd., someone stole a cellphone valued at $250 from the break room. The theft was reported at 7:40 p.m. Oct. 7.

Murano missing: Someone stole a 2009 Nissan Murano from the driveway of a home in the 16700 block of Redwood Way between 9 p.m. Oct. 3 and 8:30 a.mOct. 4.

Loaded purse stolen: A purse that the owner said contained items valued at $5,550 was reported stolen from an unlocked 2006 Toyota Highlander in the 2500 block of Jardin Drive between 6:45 and 9:55 p.m. Oct. 2.

GPS unit taken: A burglar pried open the driver's-side window of a 2004 Jeep Cherokee in the 3900 block of Osprey Lane and stole a Global Positioning System receiver between 10 p.m. Sept. 26 and 8 a.m. Sept. 27.
