Arrest made in Hallandale party shootings

Police said Tuesday a Pembroke Pines man had been arrested in the shootings of two women and a man at a party in Hallandale Beach over the weekend.

Joel Anthony McPherson, 28, is accused of shooting the three early Sunday at a banquet hall at 130 NE Third St., police spokesman Andrew Casper said.

McPherson was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery. He also faces a weapons violation. He was being held without bond in Miami-Dade's Pre-Trial Detention Center, and was expected to be transferred to Broward County.

The shooting victims were taken to area hospitals, with non-life-threatening injuries.
