Robbers target two men in Hollywood

A 47-year-old man told police he was walking in the 800 block of North Federal Highway in Hollywood when a man on a bicycle pulled up next to him about 5 a.m. Oct. 16.

``Give me all your money,'' the robber said. The victim said he didn't have any. The robber pulled out a hunter's knife and said, ``Give me your money or else.''

The victim said he emptied his pockets but held his brother's ATM card in his hand. He told police the card was the only thing the robber stole.

Later that day, another man was held up in Hollywood.

``I was in shock,'' the 73-year-old victim told police.

He said he parked his car at his home in the 5300 block of Tyler Street about 3 p.m.

When he got out, a man wearing a ski mask was waiting and pointed a gun at his head.

The victim said he pushed the gun away and started screaming.

The robber got into a black car and left.

COOPER CITY

Jewelry, cameras stolen: Someone pried a rear sliding glass door and entered a home in the 9300 block of Southwest 54th Street between 8 a.m. and 5:40 p.m. Oct. 26. The burglar left with two digital cameras valued at $250 and two boxes containing jewelry valued at $10,000.

DAVIE

Lawn tools taken: Lawn equipment valued at $6,950 was stolen from a lawn-care trailer parked at Extra Care Storage, 3401 S. State Road 7, between 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12 and 8:46 a.m. Oct. 13. The burglars pried the side door of the trailer and stole two mowers, two hedge trimmers, two blowers, two weed trimmers, an edger and a generator.

Donation box stolen: A driver for the Cancer Free America Foundation said he placed a donation box in the Tower Shops, 2300 S. University Dr., about 2 p.m. Oct. 11. When he returned an hour later the metal bin was gone. He told police the metal bin was valued at $700 and usually contains shoes, clothes and other items for Cancer patients.

Bumper boosted: Someone stole a bumper and molding from a 2003 BMW in the 6900 block of Southwest 39th Street between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15. The loss was estimated at $1,000.

FORT LAUDERDALE

Assault with van: About 10:20 p.m. Oct. 14, a 36-year-old woman sitting on the sidewalk in the 3700 block of West Davie Boulevard told police a man in a green minivan followed her from U.S. 441 before he turned sharply against the curb and knocked her to the ground. She said he told her it was ``dangerous to walk alone.'' She was apparently uninjured.

Booze stolen: A man returned to his apartment in the 2600 block of Northeast 11th Court about 6:45 a.m. Oct. 16. He told police he was gone about 30 minutes. He noticed the front door was open, the kitchen window was broken and two bottles of liquor were missing. He saw the open door of another apartment and spotted his liquor inside. He told police the 50-year-old man inside had come to his apartment earlier and said, ``Give me liquor. I got to get drunk.'' The victim said he wouldn't prosecute his neighbor.

Cars burglarized: A burglar broke windows on two cars parked next to each other in the Publix lot, 1415 E. Sunrise Blvd., between 12:45 and 1:45 p.m. Oct. 21. Nothing was stolen from a 2002 Kia Spectra, but a Bluetooth-type scanner computer valued at $1,000 was stolen from a 2005 Scion XB.

HALLANDALE BEACH

Home ransacked: Officers dispatched to a burglary in the 600 block of Southwest Third Street found a broken kitchen window and items on the floors in all the rooms. The owner said she locked the front door and was out between 8:30 a.m. and noon Oct. 22. She said jewelry valued at $3,000 and a computer valued at $1,000 were missing.
