Police are searching for gunmen who shot a man in the parking lot of a Miami-Dade apartment complex early Tuesday.

The 22-year-old man, who was shot several times, died at Jackson Memorial Hospital, said Detective Lena Adams, a Miami-Dade police spokeswoman.

Just before 5 a.m., the man went to the apartment complex at 855 NW 155th Ln.

``He was confronted by several unknown assailants,'' Adams said. ``They shot at him multiple times.''

The shooters fled the scene.

The gunfire hit cars in the parking lot, as well as the walls of the apartment building.

The victim's name was not released.
