Suspect arrested in Coconut Grove home invasion

Miami police are on the lookout for clues in a home invasion and sexual assault in Coconut Grove.

A man was arrested in connection with a Coconut Grove home invasion, Miami police announced Wednesday.

Jerod Danny Mays, 19, was charged with armed home invasion robbery and armed false imprisonment.

Last month, four armed men confronted a man and a woman talking outside a home at Brooker Street and Oak Avenue in the Grove. They forced the roommates inside, joining two other roommates.

One of invaders struck a man with a gun. A woman was sexually assaulted, according to Miami police. She has been treated and released.

The robbers made off with cellphones, a laptop computer and money, according to Miami police spokesman Freddie Burden.
