Police and fire rescue workers are investigating a fatal lightning strike that killed one man and injured two others in South Miami-Dade.
The tragedy took place Monday afternoon when three men hid under a tractor trailer at 17198 SW 212th St. to avoid the lightning. The trailer was hit and the men were injured, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesman Arnold Piedrahita.
The victims, who have not been identified, were taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center for treatment. Miami-Dade police homicide detectives, who investigate accidental deaths, are also on scene.
