Reputed drug lord captured in Panama
Associated Press
An infamous drug trafficking suspect was captured Thursday night as he had dinner at a restaurant in Panama City, Panama.
U.S., Panamanian and Colombian authorities were looking for Johnny William Tamayo Hernandez on charges related to drug trafficking and murder, said police spokesman Eduardo Lin Yuen.
Tamayo Hernandez was reputed to be the right-hand of drug trafficker Juan Carlos Ramirez, alias ''Chupeta,'' who was captured last August in Brazil.
''Chupeta,'' a kingpin of Colombia's Cali cartel, then a member of the Norte del Valle cartel, was captured in Brazil two months ago and extradited to the United States.
Tamayo Hernandez is behind bars Friday waiting to face Panamanian judicial authorities and extradition to the United States.
