What to do with absentee ballot?
Q. I have an absentee ballot and I'd prefer to cast my vote at the polls. What do I do with the absentee ballot?
-- Nikki Arias, via e-mail
A. Take your absentee ballot to your polling station and give it to the poll worker. He or she will void it, after which you can cast your ballot.
Even if you forget to take it with you, you can still vote, although it will take longer; the poll worker will first have to call the county elections department to have the absentee ballot voided.
Don't forget to take a driver license or state I.D. with you. Find a list of alternatives at www.miamidade.gov/elections or by calling 311, in Miami-Dade. In Broward, visit www.browardsoe.org or call 954-357-7050. In Monroe, visit www.keys-elections.org or call 305-292-3416.
